I'm not sure from the post whether you've tried this, but you should find something with HDMI input and see if the laptop can display there before you blame the HDMI port.

I've updated it completely in terms of Windows Update (Win10 1903), all drivers are up to date, BIOS is up to date, I can't see what's stopping this laptop dsiplaying, its almost like it simply isn't sending out a signal - If I connect another monitor to it, it doesn't even see it in Device Manager.īased on the above, does anybody have any suggestions? My worry now is that it might be a faulty HDMI port but open to any other suggestions. Given this I'm guessing it's a problem with the laptop.

Swapped out the laptop itself for another - Immediately recognizes the monitor and displays a second screen.

Swapped out the HDMI/VGA adapter - Same issue, no signal.Swapped out the VGA port - Same issue, no signal.Swapped out the monitor for another - Same issue, no signal.Each user has a second monitor they connect to, in this instance the connection was Laptop (only has a HDMI output) > HDMI/VGA adapter > VGA cable > VGA port on the monitor (which doesn't have a HDMI port) - now when the laptop and monitor are connected the monitor comes out of sleep mode, displays that no signal is being received to the VGA port, then goes back into sleep mode.

On Friday a user reported their laptop wasn't outputting to their second screen. We've been getting HP 250 G7s in for our users for a while now, and they're reliable for what they're needed for, most of the time we can set them up, shift them off, and have few issues aside from the odd update.
